Namachieli Pillar of the Community United States 2120 Posts	Posted 11/10/2010 4:36 pm Hmm correct me if I'm wrong mexican experts, 8 Reales (denomination), 1827 (date) and I'm not sure about the G, could be a mint mark, not sure though. 10 Ds. 20 Gs (dineros and granos) which equates to .902777 fine (silver) Some of the other guys probably more historical info about it. but this should get you going in your Google Searches. Lots of those "pieces of eight" have been counterfeited for years - I had one in my hands a few weeks ago - and your information just isn't enough for us to form an opinion on this supposed coin. Guadalupe Victoria Valued Member Mexico 53 Posts	Posted 11/10/2010 9:36 pm It is probably a Guadalajara issue, but the mintmark would have to be a G with a superscript A, FS refers to the name of the assayer.
