I don't see any traces of wear or significant marks.

Coin is dark but luster looks good under the toning.

Perhaps MS-63?

Up until 1942, South African farthings were artificially blackened at the mint, to prevent them being easily mistaken for gold coins. It's not considered detrimental to the grade, since they came out of the mint looking like that.

Very interesting I didn't realize the dark toning was deliberate. Makes that coin even nicer (!)

Interesting detail I didn't know either. A few farthings I came across were "natural" copper color.
