The date and mint mark looks thick or wide to me. The 9's are odd looking. What do you see? Thanks,John1

I get quite a few like this ..the date & MM almost look flattened. I have looked closely at several and not found any doubling.

Yes I've seen some like that too. Perhaps it could be the die wearing and widening? I don't know if it is anything significant.

There appears to be another mintmark right above the D, maybe I'm imagining it?

Pearlgem, I see what you are talking about now....looks almost like a "ghost" D..especially the first picture...that was not the question of the OP, but it does look strange.
