Hello- I hope from my scanned pics of this coin (not really clear)
that you can see what I am talking about with this coin.

On the front of the coin, the words, "Republica Mexicana" seem
to be too far on top and even seem to run right into the top edges
a bit. There is an outer design (beads?) that doesn't go around
the entire edge on the front of the coin also, it cuts off on top.

On the back, the same thing with the outer design, except it cuts
off on the bottom of the coin.

Also on the back, the year, 1869, just looks plain weird to me, like
it was maybe added onto the coin after the rest of it? The year actually is running into the word, "centavos" somewhat.

Any help with this coin

First of all

Now to the coin. It is common to be off-centered. The dies were probably made off individual punches so it is also common that letters and numbers are all over the fields.

It is a three year-transitional type and Chihuahua (what Ca represents) was a mint not really prepared for the decimal coin system implementation, and all the early years are from crude to very crude.

Believe it or not, your coin is a nice VF-XF which KM values in the range of $40-60.

Thanks so much for the "welcome" as well as
for the information on the '1869 5 Centavos.'

I'm new to the world of coins and have found
it to be a wonderful place, so easy to get
lost in, learning something everyday,

Very enjoyable it all is...
