is it possible to buy uncut sheets from the BEP? I don't mean out of date currency, but new models in 16s/32s etc.

I heard of a guy who would take uncut sheets of 2s into a store and then clip a few off to pay for something.

The only issue with that is the BEP doesn't sell the sheets for FV!

yeah he would lose money every time he did that, but he said it was worth it just for the way people stared at him. his other trick was to get them gummed together at the toplike sticky notes and peel a few off when he had to pay for something.

Bought the same sheet when I visited the BEP a few months ago in Ft Worth. It was the one that was the least times over face and I really enjoy the reverse. Great tour there if you go and they were printing the new $100's, the ones that they are now destroying and reprinting. My favorite part of the tour was the employee who made a paper airplane out of a sheet and threw it our way as we passed by. Its only paper until it leaves the site and is monitized.

No chance of even getting ahold the airplane as your behind glass. Yes they house the uncut sheets in tubes and probably ship them that way as well if you order from the BEP. Another thing I found funny is the end process of packing currency and wrapping is fully automated. Even a robot places the packets on a pallet. But at the end there are two guys and one pushes a packet to the other who puts a bar coded sticker on it. Everything is automated but this is not? My rationale is they are union and their jobs are protected but its a waste of manpower for sure. That aside, the BEP has a first rate visitors center and had many interactive exhibits. So you can either see the history and wonder of currency, or shake your head at the fact there are eight seperate unions in the same building yet it took them months to figure out they had problems with the new $100 note.

That kind of makes you think about the process of making money, doesn't it? If you can cut up "money" and spend it, who's to say what is money? What's makes the FRS and BEP legit when one can go around cutting up notes as needed?

Whether the sheet is cut up by the BEP or a private individual, it is still all legal tender. I liken it to cutting up a Mint Set. You pay a premium for the set but you can certainly cut it up and spend the individual coins for face value. |

I have one sheet of (I think) 16 and another full sheet (I think 32) of the 2 dollar bills. If I am not mistaken the half sheet is all star notes. The other one may be also but I am sure the half sheet is
Edit: I see above it is 16 and 32 that they are made up of, I thought that was the number but wasn't sure

When I saw "buying uncut sheets" I thought of my wife telling me to cut my toenails, I was cutting up the sheets! Where is the coffee?  I am planning on taking my girls to the FW BEP this spring, it's ONLY three hours away. They asked me how I had "sheets" of four one-dollar bills. I told them that I cut up a larger sheet back in the day, it's a 1995 series. Edited by oih82w8
