My 7/10 edition of CDN shows that circulated rolls of 1943 wheats should bid/ask/sell for:

$7.00 per roll for the 1943P

$9.00 per roll for the 1943D

$11.50 per roll for the 1943S

I have 5 rolls of P-mints, 5 rolls of S-mints, and 3 rolls of D-mints. All of them I consider to be "circulated" condition. Some have been cleaned, some have some rust, and some have been re-plated. I opened a roll of each and snapped a photo.

1943S

My question is...

Are the coins I'm rolling & saving considered to be circulated? Or should I not have kept the obvious re-plated and rusted ones? To be honest, I'd be tickled pink if I were to be able to sell these off at CDN prices. Some of the 1000-count bags I've been sorting through have 2 to 3 hundred steels like this in them.

Yes, those would be considered circulated.

And yes, rust, damaged, re-plated, etc should be removed from those rolls when calculating a price vs. CDN "Circulated Roll" prices. Trying to sell the problem pieces as average circulated will lead to others problems that you don't need or want to have.

I used to separate the problem pieces when I rolled "steelies". Seemed like half of them had some sort of issue and those pieces are not worth CDN prices.

Thanks bherring1964, that's what I thought. I've got some re-sorting to do.

I too have thousands of those things. I used to have double that amount but gave away about half to a YN. I've kept all the ones that are about or better than Uncirc grades and all the replated or reprocessd ones. I've separated out the redone ones by the possible type of replating. I've found that some are replated with almost anything possible for some reason. I'm trying to make an entire roll of Chrome plated ones and Copper plated ones. Zinc and Tinned ones are really common and entire rolls of those are easy to accumulate.

That amazes me. Out of 1,000 coins you find 2 or 3 hundred 1943 cents? Where do you get a 1,000 cent bag with that quantity of 1943 cents in them? At that rate you could accumulate millions in no time.
