Six Errors I Need Help Identifying - Coin Community Forum

DylansDad Valued Member United States 476 Posts	Posted 12/23/2010 3:25 pm Hmmm...I'd say 1-2-5 look like struck through capped die strikes. The others are hard to say due to the picture quality, but I'd say struck through's of some sort. Report this Post to the Staff

And the 1st one is not struck through capped die. the second pic is of the reverse, it is indented with lincoln image but does nto appear to be struck with the revere die at all Report this Post to the Staff

There is no way one die can strike a coin without the other to press against. There had to be something over the one die to make it not strike the coin with the design. I am not an error collector and don't know allot about them but I do know one die can not strike a design into the coin unless the other die is against the planchet also, even if the design is covered up by something Report this Post to the Staff
