I have just started paying attention to the serial numbers on bank notes and found these two notes:

$100 1999 BA 01099544* Nice with heavy center crease
$1 2006 L 03671198* Quite Circulated

Are these keepers or spenders?

If this is a dumb question just say so, I usually concentrate on coins.

Neither are low run notes, I say spend.

Personally, I keep all stars that I find, just because I think they're neat. Condition doesn't matter to me, unless it's really, really beat up.

Whether or not you should keep them, depends on why you would keep them in the first place. Are you planning to resell them at some point, or would you be keeping them for yourself? If you are planning to resell them, condition, and the amount of notes produced for a particular run, would play a big role in what you could get for them.

Also, regarding the $100 (again, assuming you plan to resell) I've heard that higher denom notes, are harder to sell, and what you can get over face is very dependent on condition.

If it were me, assuming I could sit on $101, I would hang onto them.
