Hi Members I have a cool Morgan silver dollar Pcgs ms 65 for sale on ebay, auction# 220024652839 It has a cool Hologram effect look straight at it the coin is normal, tilt it toned in a golden color and tilt even more it has a proof like mirror finish in a super strike. I have heard collectors pay high dollars for these coins, I see on online auctions these coins go for up to $500/$700 a piece. Take a look and tell me what you think. Ty Coin Hog

my guess is it will never get a bid, no matter how nice it looks. Usually when there is a high starting bid no one will bid, they will just pass on by it. Someone may snipe it and win it at the starting bid but if there is a couple people bidding on it then it will surprise me
Rest in Peace

Ty, the PCGS Price Guide http://www.pcgs.com/prices/frame.ch...rgan_regular has it at $220 while Coin Values magazine has it at $175. Both tend to be high on the actual ebay market, but don't settle for less if you feel it's a superior Morgan. Stick with you guns. Alternatively, if it doesn't matter so much what you're willing to accept for it, expect it to sell about $150, maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

I just looked at your auction. It's a very nice coin, but I think your starting price is gonna scare off a lot of potential buyers. These days, the most successful coin auctions seem to be those which start out at almost nothing (I start all my Morgans at 99 cents) and let them drift up to current market price. I haven't been disappointed yet, at least with Morgan sales.

Good luck!

Fred

I have a 1882 O/S on ebay right now its a VAM-5 (graded AU-58 by NGC) I started it out at 9.99. Sometimes I do list them with a BIN or make offer but did a test, I listed one coin with a 65.00 starting bid (it was a MS-64 common Morgan graded by PCGS in a OGH) and never got any bids, I relisted it with a 9.99 starting bid and it sold for 87.00

Brian The Lion, Fred Mirths,Dewayne In Whats Happening, thanks very much for the input, I have lost my shirt on .99 starting price on Morgans lately. Most book values were $120+ and sold for $40/$50 range from last minute snipers. I really don't want to rid myself of this coin but my son needs braces and I never touch my finances, I always use other alternatives.

This is a Toner and has solid Hologram effect, I wish I could get you another pic. Lastly could this coin go at ms 66? Remember my last post about grading companies. No cheek marks, pics show a little, but that is the toning spots, the only nics I see on this coin is at 2pm to 4pm four little tics other than that the coin looks free of any problems. I have looked at this coin at 15x loupe and the toning spots might take away from grade? But from the naked eye you can't see any toning spots and the spots make the coin a beauty, go figure.

TY Coin Hog with his BLOG. (If my little funny names insult you I will remove, just having some fun.)
Rest in Peace

Ty, you won't get MS-66 out of PCGS on a regrade or even a Presidential Review. They're just not giving out -66s these days unless it's to one of their special dealers. You could try one of the lesser TPGs like PCI and ICG, but even if you were to get MS-66 out of them, you wouldn't get -66 prices from the sale in one of these holders. I know you didn't want to hear this, but it's just the way the market is these days. What other Morgans might you have? We'll be happy to look at them and give you a rough estimate; braces are expensive and dentists/orthodontists don't give discounts.
