Is she supposed to look beautiful? Haha! But India seems to have cottoned on to the commemorative coins, do you know if these will be see by the normal indian people?

Commemoratives coins are cool! But these coins become old very quickly. I wonder why they don't spend time to design a coin of better quality. I understand there are constraints in minting a coin well below the coin's worth.

India also issued a Rs100 silver coin on that occasion; same design though. Well, at least the Rs5 piece circulates. France for example also issued coins on this occasion, but none of them can be had at face.

Frankly, I don't think that design is better. Also, they will never circulate - much like US silver dollars, they cost several times the face value. Another reason to prefer the Rs5 coin. :)

No, spock, your posts from other forums don't count here, but with 50 posts and two weeks of membership you can buy on CCF and respond to trades. You could pick into "For Trade" forum, and if you like anything there you could offer your Indian coins in return.
