Proof 1837 Large Cent? - Coin Community Forum

Manuel Valued Member United States 163 Posts	Posted 01/09/2011 1:55 pm Was flipping through Grading Coins By Photographs, and saw that the Mint made proof large cents from 1817 to 1857. I took a closer look at my 1837. It has some similarities, and a few places have touches of red. Just to be certain, I want to find out if it is, or if the coin was cleaned years ago. Obverse Reverse The white spots are the reflection of the camera in the 2x2 If it isn't a proof (I don't think it is), then can you guys tell me the grade? Report this Post to the Staff

Moe145 Pillar of the Community United States 8904 Posts	Posted 01/09/2011 2:03 pm I don't see any evidence of this being a proof. (IMO) I would grade this EF-40 (AU details) with porosity and scratches/graffiti. Report this Post to the Staff
