the new cents are only 2.5% copper

even if the get ride of copper still gonna cost more then face to make the cents .

Its mainly manufature and distribution cost .

We should just go ahead and make the dime the smallest coin available. People will either learn to round their totals, or they will shift to electronic payments. Regardless, it would not be the end of the world. There are still plenty of coins to collect.

i'll have to disagree with you mr. buck.

I've heard tell of other countries considering polymer coins and it seems we might be able to do that cheaper.

as far as removing cents and nickels, it seems like that's a slippery slope and is just one more step toward a cashless society.

meanwhile, I'm loading up on cents.

When I was in Australia, they were already using the nickel as their smallest coin. It really is not all that complicated.
