Picked this up for $1.75 at the local coin shop. Curious about grade and, also, what happened with that left wheat stalk looks a Cud of some sort definitely metal:

Also curious about left edge of the right wheat stalk seems strangely misaligned is that just a die variety?

I would grade it VF, the left wheat ear is beginning to chip and crack. If the crack kept progressing, it would become a retained cud(rim to rim crack with displacement) and eventually a full Cud with that piece of the die breaking away.

Thanks does a chip/crack of that size impart any additional value to the coin or is it just a common curiosity?

What bio said.

Some people collect dies/chips, to them it might be worth a very slight premium. However, it usually will detract from the value as most collectors see it as a flaw.
