Keep getting this thing connecting to https://www.statcounter.com at the bottom of screen and the webpages are taking almost 2-3 minutes just to load. What is up with that? Edited by Irishraider 09/11/2006 6:37 pm

well it did the same thing all night last night, I tried for HOURS and couldn't get on. This isn't the first time its done thes either, it actually happens quite often. I always click on "active Topics" and I have it set to refresh automatically every few minutes and it does this quite alot (last night was the longest I have seen though)

Bryan before yesterday the forum, to my knowledge, had not had any outages in over 6 months. Not one single complaint, email, phone call, nothing. Now I don't count routine maintenance as an outage. Database backups are done every night automatically, I guess that could cause a slowdown for a few minutes. Also IIS and the server have to be restarted occasionally just like any other computer. Last night had nothing to do with statcounter. I broke it, Rui fixed it. It only took so long because I broke it in the middle of the night where Rui is.

lol ok, I just know there has been a few times that it loaded the page and there were nothing on it and I waited and waited and waited and it finally showed up, then I click on active topics and it sat there and sat there and sat there. I am on this computer at all hours of the day and night and I have never reported a problem and wouldn't now if this thread hadn't already been started

Well, I think Bryan, if you're sitting on active topics automatically refreshing, you're going to catch every little internet quirk, plus the backups, plus the restarts..... Once it times out, it's done, it will sit there until you fix it, even if the quirk only lasted a minute. I think its just the nature of the beast.
