I'm writing an article on MPCs, and I'd like to talk with experts (dealers and/or advanced collectors) in the field. I'm also looking for real life tales from military veterans with some interesting MPC-related experiences.
Rest in Peace

First, 4stooges, welcome to the forum! We're all pretty friendly and the knowledge database is incredible!

There's a number of us veterans in the group and many or most of us have had experiences with MPCs (Military Payment Certificates for those who don't know). I still have a small number left over from my year in Vietnam. However, I believe longnine collects them (and military tokens) and has a fair amount of expertise on them.

I have a tale of my four day adventure as C-Day (Conversion Day) Officer in which I was flown around the entire Americal (23rd Infantry Div) Area of Operations in my own OH-1 LOH helicopter taking in, then swapping out MPCs in the middle of the monsoon season. Other than getting shot at, shooting back in turn, having Vietnamese almost forcibly try to push their old MPCs on me to exchange for the new issue, disrupting a VC party in the middle of the jungle, black market revelations, and losing a fair amount of money myself since I was accountable for every cent, it was a routine mission that I didn't particularly welcome since I was "short" with less than two weeks remaining on my tour. Let me know if you're interested.

Fred

Welcome 3 stooges I like MPC's and I collect them, but I don't believe I have enough info for you. You can try posting specifics maybe we can answer them Like Morgan fred Has said There are many veterans here, who might be able to answer the questions you have ...

Jim, your pics are not showing up. I think it's because you used brackets in the file names. It is best to only use hyphens. Even the underscore can screw it up. The forum software doesn't like characters besides letters and numbers in file names.
