Hi all I found a 2006 s nickel in pocket change today were they only put in proof sets ? what would its worth be now that its been taken out and is it worth holding on to collector wise also anyone know how many were minted ?

Mintage was 2,923,105. I'd hang on to it.

Yes, they were only issued in proof sets.

2006 doesn't hold any particular value over any other date of that era. If it were in nice shape (PR-65 or so) it might retail for 3 or 4 dollars. It probably has been scuffed up from circulation, which hurts its value very significantly.

That said, it is nice finding proof coins in pocket change. I always hang onto them when I find them!
