I'm looking for references and values on: 1 bezzo of 6 bagattini, law of 22nd January 1604 & 2 soldi, law of February 5th 1686. Interestingly, I wrote down those descriptions 40+ years ago as a poor student with little access to coin references and long before the internet. Where the heck did I get the info then? I just randomly flipped through a few of Italian states, an interesting fact, the ones that had a unit of soldo did not have 2 soldi, from 1 it jumped to 3. Of course my search wasn't comprehensive, all I'm saying is that it may be worth to look at other states. Report this Post to the Staff

I had considered that Venice was an almost colonial power, with areas of economic hegemony around the Mediterranean where their law (and money) ruled; but no match yet!
