1980 Molded Over Edge Penny - Coin Community Forum

strataman4 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/24/2011 4:09 pm Hi, I am posting here to find out more about this unique penny I found just recently in my change. It has a molded over top on the head size of the penny and it covers part of the words "In God We Trust" Feeling it, it is not a worn spot but more like a deposited piece of metal and is in positive relief. I was wondering if anyone knows why this may have occurred during stamping and perhaps how much it may be worth if anything but a penny. Any assistance would be welcomed. Thanks for your help. John1 Moderator United States 56855 Posts	Posted 01/24/2011 5:13 pm Welcome to CCF. I have never seen a Cud that stuck up like yours,the Cuds I see are flat on top so I am not sure it is a Cud.Can you post a pic of the whole coin on both sides? John1 Report this Post to the Staff
