About two weeks ago I had purchased a rather large lot of foreign coins from a dealer and one of the few I cant identify is this old copper with what appears to be Arabic writing or some other middle eastern script. If anyone has any idea of its origin and value I'd greatly appreciate it.
Persian it is! Iran, 2 shahi (100 dinar), minted between AH 1297 and 1313 (1879 - 1895). Dated coins are worth more, I don't believe yours is dated. The date would be under the wreath on your right image. No date, VG $7.50, F $15.
