If the total comes in at $265 or lower, I would say that you did okay. The coin pictured looks pretty good for the grade. Maybe a little soft, but that could easily be in the photos provided. One thing I like about the heritage site- pics are usually excellent and one can zoom in on any area one wants- seems to be the next best thing to holdiong coin in hand. Is this your feeling, or am I fooled. That is a big problem with ebay- don't know what is hiding behind the glare alot of the time, if one is lucky enough to have a hig res pic. Now teach me- how do I identify this as a potentially weak or soft strike? Not enough detail in the grizzly fur? Don Report this Post to the Staff

However the zoom feature will often blur areas that are otherwise well struck. When I buy through Heritage and have a specific question, I email them and ask for detailed photos. Also ask about the weak struck areas. For this particular area, look for weakness in the water, bridge supports, and the tower. They are opposite of the bear and this is the highest portion of the coin. For the most part, these coins are pretty well struck. Trying to judge the weakness by the bear is difficult do to the lack of strong details in the design. Heritage is usually very good at replying to emails, but do so with enough time to allow for bidding on any item. Report this Post to the Staff
