Hey everybody. I got this 1888 O Morgan at a local shop and I was wondering what it would grade and if it would be worth getting it slabbed. The pics look a little yellowish, but the coin is more white reflective surface. The details are great and looks like a good deep strike to me, but I don't really know the difference between lower and higher MS grades.

Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks

Tough to tell from the pictures but it looks AU to me and not mint state. Being a common date it would not be worth the cost of slabbing IMHO.

Welcome to Coin Community!

The pics are a tad small to be making definitive decisions. Could be a very nice AU, could be MS64. Even at 64, though, the value probably doesn't justify slabbing - this one's fairly common up to that grade - so just sit back and enjoy your nice Morgan.

Yeah the pics are a bit small I had to down size them a bit. I will keep it as it is. The ultimate goal is to have a complete set of lustrous gems

Nice strike for this mint. From what I can tell from the pictures I would grade this coin at MS-63. With better pictures it might go as high as MS-64.
