Yesterday I got 40 2 dollar bills, series 2003A, for spending money and today I noticed they are "birthday" notes, the last four digits is the year someone was born. The notes end with 1961 through 2000. All new notes, though the teller managed to put some small smudges on a few of them on the left when she counted them out.

Actually those would be birthyear notes. Birthday notes have a complete date like 01221986 for example (01-22-1986).

You're right, I meant birthyear and perhaps I got it wrong is because today IS my birthday and that was what got written.
