I am thinking of selling my hoard of copper Lincoln cents here on CCF and I would like some feed back from you all. I was thinking of selling $50 in face value for $80. That would include Priority Flat Rate shipping, that's the box where I can ship up to 70 Lbs. right? It should hold $50 face, right? Also would add tracking. So $12.00 shipping,1.00 tracking and $50.00 face = $63.00. I would be making about $27.00.I was thinking of accepting cash,USPS money order or PayPal gift.Does this all sound about right to you? If someone pays with PayPal, how long before the money is in my bank account? Thanks much. John1

John, recheck your math, I think you only net $17 at those figures.

Not sure what box you wanted to use but...
The best shipping deal will be $100 face (68lbs) in a large flat rate box ($15)
$100 Face $ 15 Ship $ 1 Track $ 60 Take ------------- $176 Total
Hope this helps.

On the paypal, depending on if you wait for the transaction to completely follow through, it takes 3 days from the time you request the withdrawal until the time it hits your bank account. At least it does for me.
I usually wait until I know the customer is completely satisfied before requesting the funds, just in case.

Scooby Due, you have to request the funds? The money doesn't automatically go into your bank account? Quote: I usually wait until I know the customer is completely satisfied before requesting the funds, just in case. Doesn't that leave you hanging, what if you send out something worth $100.00 and the buyer doesn't pay you? Thanks, John1

It goes into your paypal account and you have to request a withdrawal for it to transfer to your bank.
I wait until the transaction is complete before requesting the funds from paypal. So if there is a refund needed, I don't have to pay the paypal fee to re-transfer funds back to it.

John1, I put my pennies in a heavy duty plastic bag with a few wraps of tape around just in case.I use the bags that I get my pennies in from the counting machine.

One more idea is a banks Cashiers Check. Most banks will give you those if you have an account for free. And a Cashiers Check is the same a cash you know. Then no need to pay for a USPS money order, paypal stuff, etc. You just have the same as cash.

John1. When PayPal is used for payment. The funds enter your PayPal account instantly when the buyer completes the PayPal transaction. You will have access to the PayPal funds instantly. From there you have to request from PayPAl to transfer your funds to your approved and verified bank account that you registered with PayPal. This transfer can take several days. Usually 3 - 7 business days. For me...it takes between 5 - 7 business days as I live in Canada which takes longer then a USA bank transfer. I do agree with Scooby that I leave the money in my PayPal account until the buyer has left feedback from their purchase. Makes life easier just in case the buyer is unhappy with what they have received and request a refund.
