HoosierDaddy, I do the same thing. Yesterday I pulled an 83 with a big ole die chip on the southwest corner of the memorial. Plus I look for big and long die cracks. Best one of those I found was on the back of Abe's head.

I got a sweet looking 1953S with the "9" filled with no damage to it. Looks freshly made...the die chip that is. But this one had a ding...right on the chip.
