This topic IMHO is going nowhere unless the OP can show detailed photos of the date area for our discussion.

Sooo ... can you do that Cud Wild ... good clear photos of the alleged over-date?

Otherwise we can speculate for 46 pages ... and get nowhere.

Bottom line ... much better photos are needed to show an over-date.

Im just labeling the coin as a die chip and leaving it at that. End of story!

I came to a conclusion I'm 100% positive its not a 1977/6 nickel. Its some kind of weird die break. Thank you everyone for the help.

Nickelsearcher I'm thinking about making this 47 pages 46 isn't enough. Just kidding I'm done talking about this coin. On to the next......
