so I found a very worn 1916 dime, but it's so worn that I can't make out the mint mark on the back. I mean, it's worn down where the mint mark would be. there may be a mark or may not be in the end, but does anyone have any tips for getting the mark to show?

As far as I know if there is no mintmark visible, it's assumed a philly.

I'm sorry but it can't be a 1916 D without the D.

Are there die markers that differentiate a 1916D from a 1916 Philly?

They used to make silver date, like the stuff for dateless nickels, but I wouldn't use it.

Google 1916d dime diagnostics. Slobbing services will certify it if it's gen-you-wine.
