I am hoping to that somebody can tell me if I have an error coin in my possession. In particular, I have looked at two 1969 S Lincoln Pennies. On one, the S is snuggled right between the 9 and 6. On the other, the S is not close to the date at all. Are these both common, or?

Kind regards,

Neil

Welcome to CCF!

Yes, that is common. Back then the mintmark was punched in to the dies by hand, so you will find them all over the place - left, right, up, down, tilted.

If you ever find any actually touching another device - that might be out of the ordinary.
