I am not breaking any grounds here I am just trying to follow in the footsteps already created by another. As I said he was already taken away from the community before I ever even knew about CCF but I have been the beneficiary of the spirit on the forum that he created and it is in that spirit that I try and help when I can. I am in no way shape or form the only one on the forum that is dedicated in keeping his spirit alive, just most of the time things are done without anyone else knowing about it.

not sure but looks like I may be a Horrible judge of character, this guy joined on the 16th and hasn't been back on the forum since the 16th. Oh well I know my heart was in the right place on this one. I hope once he receives the Morgan (which he may have already done) he will post on the forum again

Ok good, I am sorry to jump to conclusions like that but the last 3 people I sent coins to like this did exactly that. I am glad you are going to be sticking with us and really hope to see your collection grow as you stick around. Must be something wrong with the forum counter or something because it definitely said you joined on the 16th and your last visit was on the 16th as well. Anyhow, the Morgan should be there soon, I know Presidents day may have slowed it down by a day but I would think it would be there at least by tomorrow or Friday as I have sent things to California from NC and it get there first class mail in about 7 days

Quote: Ok good, I am sorry to jump to conclusions like that but the last 3 people I sent coins to like this did exactly that. I know how that makes you feel. A long time ago I was on another coin forum where they had a lot of YN giveaways. I joined in on those and had many giveaways to help out YN's or so I thought. After a while I found out from people at coin shows that many on that forum do this all the time acting as YN's and then take whatever they get free and turn around and sell them off on ebay. Really made me feel like a jerk so never went back there again.

When I was first started getting into Morgan dollars I made the decision to purchase only uncirculated (mint state) Morgan dollars. The second decision was to learn to grade them accurately. Third decision was to purchase what I liked. I liked blast white coins. My first purchase was a 1878-CC Morgan dollar. It was sold as gem. What is now considered mint state 65. I had this one graded by NGC and PCGS some thirty-five years after I purchased it. Both graded this coin mint state 64. (near gem) Fourth decision was to learn everything I could about what I wanted so I would be an informed buyer. So there is some reading you need to do that would benefit you.

Bryan, no worries man, I'm just glad that your nice enough to help me get started...it will probably come today, but if not, no biggie, I do alot of mail via ebay and I have patience. I did check out one of my local coin shops yesterday on my lunch break, and since I'm new to this, this was the first coin shop that I had been in besides the coin shop at my local flea. Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed, but I did buy a dansco 7100 for Lincoln cents and some 2x2 flips.. I'll have to go back and see what they have as far as Morgans... on a side note: I'm thinking about getting a metal detector (garrett ace 350), and my grandmother told me that she "buried 8 mason jars of coins under a tree out back when she was a girl, but she can't remember which tree it was" .. and "back in those days not everyone used banks, we just buried our money" .. so maybe I'll get lucky and find a few Morgans.. :)

I agree, doesn't really matter their condition, that is a good deal. There are allot of counterfeit Morgans out there but if you have a strong magnet they should attract to the magnet. Even if they attract a little bit they are not authentic, just keep that in mind

I am glad it made it there safely, I was starting to get a little worried about it but I guess presidents day delayed it a little while. Anyway I am glad you like it and hope you get as much enjoyment out of collecting Morgans as I have
