I am sure if one was minted the next one after it should have the same error if it got out into circulation. At least I would believe each note that was printed after this one and any before it that the number turned on would be effected until it was caught. They may have tried to pull all of them out and just missed a few but this is purely just my thinking about it, no real facts to back it up. I would advise the OP to hold onto it or contact an expert if they ever decide to sell the note so they can get a true value on the note before selling

Totally agree... all except: Quote: if one was minted To us "paper people" a mint is a sweet candy.

The letter prefix is what looks extremely fishy to me.... The width of the prefix letters in both serial numbers is not the same, and the lower left letter does not look like a B to me either.

I think an image larger than a postage stamp is needed to determine if this note has been altered.

Folks....this error note is indeed the real deal. I specialize in error currency & I've handled many other B[0/2] mismatches EXACTLY like this one! I've tried to reach out directly to the owner (TeeTow), but I'm not permitted as a newbie to the forum. I would like to assist him in getting FAIR value for his find!

Quote: I would like to assist him in getting FAIR value for his find! The member never said anywhere in his post he was wanting to sell it, he just asked for opinions about it. Everyone is welcome to give him their opinion (which he asked for) and there is no need to talk privately about it because if its talked about on the forum everyone will learn about it instead just the two people talking privately Quote:Totally agree... all except: Quote: if one was minted To us "paper people" a mint is a sweet candy. Yeah I kind of get my terms mixed up but hopefully I didn't confuse anyone. I thought I had edited out all the "minted" references and changed them to printed but guess I missed one

Euro,
Do you know how many people register, read the rules, agree to the rules, just like you did, and do exactly what you are doing? Lots.
The rules are there for a reason, and it's activity like you are engaging in that requires the rules.

Hey guys.....give me a break! With all due respect, the man is seeking "information" on a note that he has no idea about. It bothered me that certain posts present erroneous facts that could mislead him. "Yours looks good......probably a $200 note"......or "to determine if this note has been altered"......or "looks extremely fishy to me" does not provide reliable information.
On the contrary, I followed the advice of a previous post: "I would advise the OP to hold onto it or contact an expert if they ever decide to sell the note so they can get a true value on the note before selling." I simply offered to assist the man so he doesn't possibly get ripped-off by thinking the note is fishy, altered or only worth $200 ......which it's NOT......it's worth around $1,000......that's a lot for an altered fish!

And, someone registering on this forum, for the sole purpose of trying to buy up an interesting item that someone is seeking information about is sleazy.
There are plenty of dealers, and extremely knowledgeable collectors on this forum. Nobody cares if you're the Grand Poobah of Woomba-Woombaland. Do you see anyone trying to make an offer on the item? Besides yourself? Your impressions, comments and thoughts are as welcome as anyone else's. Unbridled greed isn't.

I second that JMerrick..... I am not at all impressed with all of the chest pounding about how this vast expertise allows him to see a note so much more clearly than the rest of us..... Until such time as a clear photo of the note is produced, it remains in fishy status, despite anyone else claiming superior knowledge of such things.

Hey JMerrick, I can see that you are NOT one of those knowledgeable members! Are you a psychiatrist? My "sole purpose"? "Greed"? Wow, you have some serious issues!! Why don't you ATTACK the post about it being worth only $200. The man seeked reliable information, which he wasn't getting. No, you can't be a doctor.....are you one of those coin shop owners who will rip-off this poor guy? You seem more concerned with analyzing other people.....why don't you do some research & help this guy? I NEVER made an offer to buy the note.....I "offered" my services as an expert on error currency per the advice of a prior post! BTW, did you forget to take your meds today?
