curious, so one question. is the reeding visible on the coins outer edge
opposite of the extended area ?

Yes there is.. the reeding is around the entire coin

Just to clarify.. the opposite side of the extended area looks like a normal dime.. with the reeding on the (side). It seems like the extended area has the reeding but it's sorta smushed so you can see the reeding bumps when you look at it from above.
