So I am taking German at my college and if any of you know German, the word Morgen means tomorrow and Morgens means in the morning. Well ever since I started collecting coins, I am used to the spelling of "Morgan" like the Morgan dollar. and I have been spelling morgen wrong in german class :(

Very funny. Morgan dollars were way beneath my radar when I took German.

haha, I have to stop and think for a minute every time I write the word on here or in german class to think which is the correct spelling.

The worst thing I had to worry about in one German class was the girl sitting next to me. I had a huge crush on her. She was always asking me questions, so I had to be sure I was correct when I answered her (so she would keep talking to me).

I agree. Unfortunately, Herr Schlafke thought otherwise.

My last German class was in 1985. I wish I had continued it in college, but opted for other electives in pursuit of a minor. I know enough to order food or find a bathroom. I can also sing 99 Luftballons on karaoke night (instead of 99 Red Balloons, which really messes with their heads).

The only German word I know is Spaten. As in "I'll have a Spaten GS in a tall glass please"

Well, guys, I spent a lot of time in Germany and spoke it fluently when I was younger (15-19 yrs) so I'm embarassed to say I can't remember very much...the only thing that gives me hope is that when my German cousin visited a few years ago. I was able to join in on German conversations he was having with his wife...I spoke english but that didn't slow us down.
upstate...I'm guessing Spaten is a brand of beer ?

So just write a letter to the German Government suggesting they change the spelling of Morgen to Morgan. See that was simple and everyone knows college kids know everything so nothing to loose. Odd thing is the only thing I know of in German is swear words since the only time my Dad used German was to yell at me and out came those words.

Don't forget to forward a copy to Austria. While you are at it, Switzerland may need one as well. Awe, you might as well go "all in" on this project...
