I'm going to say no, not real. First it's from someone with a zero feedback. Second there is no description. Third, why would anyone put this up for a 24 hour sale, especially if it's a part of a multi-million dollar estate... people with a multi-milllion dollar estate don't liquidate it with some yahoo on ebay, they hire a professional.

Very suspect of being a copy or counterfeit. The lister is from China and has a 0 feedback. Both to me are red flags.

I still see the listing--bad photos, but obviously it doesn't look right. The details aren't sharp enough for a struck coin. Hate to say it, but Shanghai is a red flag too.

JMerrick, that's hilarious! It's like a distributor somewhere provided the fake coins, and a script to sell by.

In my humble experience, a story that sounds too good to be true is usually not very original. Anytime I see a listing on ebay, and there's a story like "My uncle Theodore died last month..." I check ad copy. You'd be surprised how many people had an Uncle Theodore who died last month and blah, blah, blah...

No one mentioned that the five bids are by two private-FB bidders prolly shilling to make it look like there's interest in it. Norseman - I don't think it was pulled, just ended. If ebay pulls a listing, there's a notice saying that number is gone.

One of my favorites was the widow selling his coins she knew nothing about except the BS on the old looking holders. Clever research tracked down a webpage where the widow (a dealer) had written a real nice testimonial to a service that repairs coins, about how pleased he was with the job they did, including before/after pix of a coin "she" had on ebay. Not only that, the repair was done long after hubby "died".

Why 24 hours? ebay has skeleton staff weekends. sell crap, get paid by Payenemy, close account and disappear before anyone shows up for work monday.
