i have a few error coins but ive never known what potential they would have in value. here is what I've got for now...

1960 Jefferson nickel with some wierd overlapping of the metals on the reverse.

Being a Wheat penny collector, I find a lot of frequent errors here and there. My top two errors ive found include a 1956 D/D wheatie and this odd penny:

It is also a 1956 D, but had tons of wierd characteristics. Double Rimmed edges, low strike reverse, various raised spots, and a very obvious off struck wide border on the back that overlaps the wheat stacks. If you can't read the "United States of America" very clearly from the picture... it's because its not there >_<. The middle of the text seems to have a low strike also.

By all means, please tell me what is wrong with that penny. I've been dieing to know what happened for it to get like that...

thanks

The cent looks like a Cud error on the reverse,,and was struck slightly out of collar,, the rest of the anomolies look like post mint damage,, including the polishing, which pretty much takes any value the coin may have had.

The nickel has the appearance in the pic of a delamination,,or a cracked planchet,,or it could be post mint damage,, if you can post clear closeups of the area, we may be able to indentify exactly whats up with the coin.

i figured this penny was polished. it has very odd discoloring in comparison to other pennies. it has a lot of obverse scratches to it as well.

as for the nickel, ill edit the original post of pics as close as I can get with my terrible digital camera >_<.

I wish I could be more helpful but I think that nickel is definitely worth some kind of premium -- It's definitely unusual.

Perhaps a planchet error? Maybe some of the more experience members could take a guess.

Hi Madness

The Nickel certianly looks like a delamination to me ,, The original surfaces (unpolished) are a plus !!

Thanks for sharing the pics !!
