Hi everybody

I know this topic was up some 18 months ago, but I will try it anyway.

Do anybody know anything about this coin?

I know from this forum, that there is more than one. It was sighted in the US late 2009, and my piece sits on the border between Denmark and Germany. Any help would be appreciated.

The Silver Mexican Libertads are made of .999 fine silver. The back of these coins illustrates two designs that are two of the most representative of the Mexican people: Independence Angel in the foreground and the Mexican volcanoes, Popocatepetl and Iztaccihautl in the background.

As one of the most recognizable monuments in Mexico City, Independence Angel is a historic column constructed to commemorate the first hundred years of Mexican Independence in 1910. While the column symbolizes freedom for the Mexicans, the two volcanoes commemorate eternal love in the legend of the two lovers for which the volcanoes are named.

I used to know what the 5 circles represent but have forgotten. Still looking for you.

Very weird, these are not supposed to have those rings in the design that is for sure. I have never seen one like this, is there any chance the rings were added by someone after the coin was struck?

Yep. But the question is...Who did it?

I only know, that one piece was sighted in the US, late 2009, and I have a piece that's sitting in Europe. This means.... There's likely to be more than two and less than a thousand.

I base that estimate on the fact that nobody knows the coin. I have been all over the German silver webs, to snuff up knowledge... and zip.

Another story:

The-Strange-1990-Libertad-With-Rings

This is a private privy from Mekartor Emporium in Hamburg Germany.
Mintage 3000.

That's a known piece, although its rare. The ring lib is unknown. Lets find out the story behind it. Would be cool.

Kind regards

I've looked enough for this. I just can't find it again. Maybe it was something about counterfeits, maybe not. I suggest you PM swamperbob about this.
