Funny..I found a 1993-D yesterday in a roll of pennies...it looks like a penny at first glance because of the color. Will try to post mine tomorrow as it has me wondering too.

it may have been buried, I find clad coins when I go metal detecting and most of them are discolored and the color depends on where they were buried and how long. It could have also been in a tumbler with some copper cents.

geez, I forgot about it......will take a few pics tomorrow and post them. I was def not soemthing that was buried, etc....I metal detect as well and I am used to seeing what the mineralization does to them. It is perfectly clean, just discolored - and very evenly.
