Customer paid with it today, and at first I noticed the low serial, but didn't care too much. Then I figured I'd pull it for the heck of it. Looking at it again, I realized the 1776. Would be neat if it was from the Philadelphia district since a couple of people signed a piece of paper there that year.

That is an awesome serial number Boston is still a good connection, the Boston Massacre of 1770 was one of the significant instigators of the Revolution. Without the Massacre, we might have still been a British colony into the early 1800s. A Fed District like St Louis, for instance, would have absolutely no connection to the Revolutionary War and Independence but Boston certainly has the history.

Congrats on the 1776 and it's a nice one at that. Now you need to pair it against 1976.

Why stop there? Pair it up with a 2176 as well and complete the trifecta.

Don't forget the centennial year 1876. A set of 1776, 1876 and 1976 would look impressive.
