Pictures-1952-Dixie-Good-Luck-Token

Just figured out last post the picture was too large. These should work fine.

1. I finally got the token from my brother to take pictures. It is a 1952 Dixie good luck token with the Kentucky Wildcats football schedule on the back. It is in pretty rough shape because my brother dug it up out of his yard 22 years ago. Any info on it would be great. A value would be great too. THanks

2. uhhhh Thanks for the info on the token. I would not have posted twice but I did not realize the pictures did not load until after I had posted.

My bad. Any idea how much these things are worth? My brother thinks they are really rare and was told it could be worth hundreds. I don't think so but I told him I would try and check. Thanks

Uh, you do realize one thread would've sufficed, instead of three?

Anyhoo.. after doing a little research I found out that Dixie Ice cream was (and still is I think?) a brand of ice cream that came in a cup w/ a little wooden spoon. I remember having similar ice creams as a kid. Your token/medal was an advertising piece for Dixie Ice Cream, of course.
Did you notice the little nub in the middle right underneath the I and the X on Dixie? The idea was to spin the token like a top, and when it stopped whomever the arrow was pointing at had to buy the next round of ice creams for everyone.

The original post included a question as to the value of the token.

I estimate less than $5.
