This is what it looked like when I backed out of the driveway!

Now I'm having second thoughts! To dig or not to dig?

1st stop. Had to stop at this middle school. This little lot produced alot of quarters in 2 hunts last fall.

2nd stop. Gotta check the grass behind the basketball court (far side). Very popular spot when the weather's nice.

#3rd stop. This park has lots of festivals during the summer.

I decided early on that when the sun came out...I was hunting! The sun came out of the clouds....and I came out of the house! 1st stop was this little school that produced over $30 in two hunts last fall. Slow going here today. I guess it hasn't had enough time to fill back up yet. Stop #2 was at a popular outdoor basketball court. I hit the grass all the way around the court but I concentrated on the area behind the hoop! The winning spot here was the little grass area to left of the court. It was loaded with COINS! And last, stop #3 was this park that's loaded. A couple of festivals are held there during the summer. Also, there is a softball field, a volleyball court, a tot-lot, and a gazebo for weddings. I did not hunt 75% of this park. Once again I have to say that my ProPointer is AWESOME. I still cannot believe how I got by without it last year.My 4 hour hunt got me these results.

I ended up with 2 pieces of kids/junk jewelry. No gold or silver. I ended up with 118 coins. I made a killing on the quarters...29!:D I found 10 dimes, 10 nickels, and 69 pennies! $9.44:D

Nice hunt! Are there a lot of people who metal detect around your area? I've always wanted to try. I can't imagine what my first experience would be like.....mostly the stares I would get.

I've never seen another MD'er in my area until I bought my own detector. Since last fall, I've noticed two others...but I know there are quite a few others. But alot of them are beach/water hunters. I had the stare issue for awhile...I just wave and smile. Oh...and I wink at the ladies!

Nice finds. Looks a little cold. Bet you are chomping at the bit for warmer weather. I visited my parents up there a few years back and went detecting in the snow when it was 25 degrees. Found a boat load of coins and jewelry, but froze my butt off. Don't miss that at all.
