I found this today in a roll and have other 2006 ( mag and non )almost looks like gold but I know its not...is this gold tone common? The whole penny even the edge is this color. Thanks for your time folks ;)

I found one while searching US pennies with that gold tone, also a 2006.

Neat. Was it a US 2006 penny? I've seen a lot of pennies lol and this is the first in that gold tone I've encountered and I have lots of 2006 but no non-mark magnetic...yet :)

This can be because: the penny got hot or more common is that it's a plating error with the nickel intermediate (barrier) layer not present at all or too weak to prevent the copper from being discoloured by the steel. If it's a zinc cent it probably got hot.

It is a marked magnetic so I am guessing steel core and plated?

2006 ML can be both mag or non mag. I have seen many of these, they are heated on a stove to change the copper into brass.
