Need help in locating a phot or the real thing.
I am trying to find a photo of all 8 bits of an 8 Reales coin (sort of like a pie cut in slices)
my other option is to purchase all eight bits.
I am not looking for 2bit or 4 bit pieces.
I need all 8 bits and not the 8 bit coin.
I can accomplish my goal if the item used in the photo or for purchase is a replica.
This is not a post to buy any thing as I would prefer a photo to having to purchase the bits, but if necessary I would do a purchase.
This is why it is in the main coin forum and not in the wanted to buy area. rggoodie aka Richard "catch em doing something right"

Wouldn't it be easier to take a picture of an uncut Spanish dollar and photoshop it into pieces? Or would that be cheating?
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

rggodie, I bet Swamperbob would have a pic of what you are looking for since Spanish and early Americas coinage (counterfeit anyway) is his specialty

rggoodie - Since the originals were cut to spend at different times (or to make change) it is very doubtful that anyone has ever reassembled the actual pieces of an original. I had a friend in Boston who spent years assembling an 8R - but he ended up with pieces of different coins that ALMOST assembled into one coin. I have seen people cut up modern fakes to do what you are thinking of. If you want a modern fake I can send you one and you can get out your saw.
The posts I saw above are all cuts of common counterfeits.

You know the Atocha coins also have pieces of 8 and are very valuable.

swamperbob the cut above was a copy and it is a picture that rggoodie sent me and I just used a program to cut it into 8 peices, then I used clone pen to get the word "copy" off the coin

sharktoy - I am curious about your comment regarding Atocha coins. Are you referring to actual recovered "cut" coins? I am not aware of any genuine cut 8Rs being in any of the treasure recovered from Atocha.
Also as an asside, I understand from a very credible source that some of the "recovered coins" on the market are actually copies made from previously recovered corroded silver. Be cautious - even when you get a "Certificate of Authenticity" that you know what you are buying.
