brokencompass There is some obvious staining on the obverse which could point to a chemical cleaning - but I also see clear hairlines on the reverse field area. That could be a result of the lighting angle but I suspect contact rubbing - not necessarily actual cleaning.
If this went to NGC I can almost guarantee it will come back without a specific grade assignment.
I just had an 1842 Chilean 8E slabbed by NGC and I KNEW it was not cleaned and it had great luster but it came back "AU details - Hairlines". Getting a coin certified as being uncleaned at present seems to require absolute pristine surfaces.
