ADMIN- Bobby gave me approval to run this contest post in the E/V section, as it pertains to die variety collectors specifically. Thank you.
*** Note from the Staff: Yes, this contest was pre-approved and has our blessing ***There are 2 coins selling in a Teletrade auction this next Sunday, 3/20. Both are exceedingly rare varieties AND were both pulled from pocket change! (they are circulated examples). These to coins will sell for a combined total of many thousands of dollars.
The coins are a 1972
DDO #4 and a 1992-D
Close AM Cent. Both are graded by PCGS as AU-58.
I find these 2 examples striking for several reasons, but I'll start a new post for that discussion.
The Contest will run from now until Saturday night 3/19 at 11:59 PM.
Winner of the contest will guess the combined total of the prices realized for these two coins. Total will be hammer price, not including buyer's premium. Closest whole dollar amount guess will win. Over or under, it doesn't matter, closest to combined total for both coins will be the winner.
ANYONE who guesses more than once will be disqualified. ANYONE who edits their guess at any time, for any reason is disqualified. Simply place your guess as one total dollar amount.
Winning contestant will receive a set of 1998, 1999 and 2000
Wide AM Lincoln Cents. The '98 and 2000 are BU, the 1999 is circulated and has some obverse gouges, but it's the genuine article.
Have fun! Any questions can be asked through my contact info.
Thanks, -Chris.
PS-
PMD IS NOT A VALID GUESS! (HaHaHa)
