Anyone Else Notice A 'Matte' Finish On ATB Quarters?

mercapri302 Valued Member United States 95 Posts	Posted 03/14/2011 8:27 pm The few that I've encountered in change have a general matte or dull surface, not unlike a general field of fingerprints (except these are UNC coins.) (As a side note, it would seem that the ATB obverse is completely reengraved from the State obverse.) Report this Post to the Staff

jbuck Moderator United States 187950 Posts	Posted 03/15/2011 2:32 pm I have not noticed anything about the finish, but the quarter obverse is now more like the original Washington quarter, especially in the hair detail (that is, they have eliminated the "spaghetti hair" of the past). Also, the overall uniform reverse design of the ATB Quarters has better eye appeal that the Statehood Quarters.
