I have a 1906 five cent coin with the obverse 180 degrees out from the reverse side, is this normal? Charlton does not show this in there catalog.

Thanks for any advice

Yes, this is normal.

Die axes for 5 cents for 1903 to 1907 are coinage alignment (ie up/down).

Not sure what Charlton edition you have, but my old dog eared 2003 has die axis listings for the coins. It is located in the area next to the obv and rev pictures that lists the designer, composition, weight, etc. Two arrows up= medal alignment and one arrow up, one arrow down= coin alignment.

Yes I see that now it is listed at the start description of the coin not by the actual date.

Thanks for the replies much appreciated.
