Got out this evening in this great weather. Did a quick 2 hour hunt in a small park that I've been trying to clean up the junk and the shallow coins. Hit 2 wheats, a 47 and a 57D, here with a bunch of corrosion on them. I just have to wade through this to get to the silver. This general area dates back to the early 1800's then later with the local indian tribes. Here's the coins and junk this evening....including a soup spoon! Now here's the coins after I took out the trash! Totals: 85 coins/$3.90 pennies-55/nickels-11/dimes-13/quarters-6 In there also was the two wheats 1947 and 1957D. And, I arcade token just to the right of the quarters in the picture.

You are making me stir crazy! Tomorrow is supposed to be 60 degrees. I plan to get my detector out this Saturday. All of the moisture in the ground is good for detecting. This has been a long cold winter. Nice work again and keep it up!

Nice. Those pennies add up. I know some that don't bother with them. That's fine more for me. Hope you hit some silver. I haven't found any in awhile. Watching you get out is driving me crazy. I have to work this weekend. Maybe I will get lucky and they call off a day of work. One can hope.

Yeah, I've always gotten the pennies too. The only thing about that though is the 1982 and newer Zincolns. Sometimes you can't even tell they're pennies anymore after you dig them.

The spoon is junk....that's why I didn't include it with the coins. No silver yet this year. I'm cleaning up the shallow stuff so it can't be far now!

I managed to take the edge off the stir-crazy yesterday - pulled three LMC's (one a barely-recognizable Zincoln) from around the foundation of my recently-vacated rental house next door, plus an odd lump that looked like aluminum, and a large (7") steel cover to something or the other. I need to find me a park somewhere, though. I've about cleaned out the elementary school yard down the street. Nice haul, and good job on getting that nasty-looking staple out of the way of little feet.

It's getting warmer in my neck of the woods and kids are running everywhere...which means more clad-for-the-new-detector fund!
