I picked up an 1918/7 Buffalo nickel and found out some time later that counterfeits are common. I would've been more hesistant to pick up a raw one if I knew that ahead of time. I've had this one for a little while so it's probably too late to do anything about it if it's a fake. I have no real reason to think it's a fake but I figure it's better to ask the experts and clear up any doubt.

As long as you can find the seller, you're OK. Title to a counterfeit cannot pass. IOW, since you can't legally own it, you can't legally sell it.

If genuine, this coin would more than justify being slobbed. That's the next step if the folks here think it's real.

IMO-its the real deal-I've never heard of this one being counterfeited-there are a number of diagnostics for the overdate (ck PCGS book on grading and counterfeit detecting), and this one meets all 3 of them-grade Good.
