since I can't find a proper forum to place this in, I figured I can start it, get some help and hopefully it will be moved to the according forum.

im trying to get a custom avatar. I've seen a few members with them, and was wondering how I do it. I placed a picture URL in the open box in the profile screen, but it doesn't seem to show up. I know how to add pics to my signature, but I wanted a corvette emblem/car as my avatar. any help would be greatly appreciated.
