Got some more bills from the bank and picked out some of the curious serial numbers. Just curious if any of these are worth keeping.

69840123 (partial ladder)
66969988 (sort of a repeater)
00048205 (low S/N)
00097246 (low S/N)
88009500 (lots of zeros)
89363688 (probably nothing, but would be nice if that 9 were an 8)

These are probably just going to put back in circulation, but what is considered a low S/N for modern notes?

A low # is usually at least four zeros.

I started a crazy project a couple of months ago just to keep me busy and have something to do. I am pulling every 1988A $1 note out of circulation that I come across and am trying to get a complete set of all districts by block. For those of you that can't do the math in your head that is 12 districts times 24 blocks = 288 notes! I have about 40 so far and crazily enough one of the only ones so far that I have gotten multiple repeats of is Y block from San Francisco... go figure.

Boatman,
I collect the Small Size Notes about the same way. I try to collect all the different types such as Silver Certs, US Notes, FRN's, Gold Notes, etc. and all denominations from $ 1.00 to $ 100.00, then all the different years from 1928 to the current date. I don't look much for the star notes, different districts, or weird serial numbers as putting away the $ 50.00's and $ 100.00's keeps me broke.

About the only other thing I try an do is up grade the condition when I can. Like you it's something to collect and a good way for me to save some money.

Hi Yonatin,
No it's not Mormon money, it's a pix of a $ 10.00 US Note series 1901.
I bought one like it a while back in AU condition. I did not see anyone using it as an avatar so thought I would. I now see that someone is using it, so I may change it.
