Rather ainticlimatic. You guys need to remember that in the combuter age, last week was the dark ages. My computer is only 4 years old but pales in comparison to new stuff. Even this 63 year old had an inkling of what he was saying.

Go ahead and experiment with what ever you want. The Hobo Nicklers don't care and would welcome anything you do. Just don't screw up a key date. Some of you guys need a chill pill.
Rest in Peace

Indeed. Seems there's an abundance of thin skin on this thread.

Best answer I can give is if there's a way to either make coins artistically, like Carr (who IIRC, strikes over existing coins) striking them with dies he created, or any other means, someone out there is doing it.

Private mints now have the ability to turn out flawless proofs and correct-weight fakes. With silver prices being what they are, how long will it be before millions of silver plated ounces of copper are sold to small-time speculators? Are dealers going to have to insist on filing a notch and acid testing every round they buy?

"Changeless", is this what you were talking about? I found this in a box of cents last weekend. I finally found it again. I call it my 1993 "Pollock Penney" and I'm keeping it. I'll bet some "Hobo Nickler" spent a lot of time on it but finally gave up. I think it's neat!

I think it looks like something Jackson Pollock would have tried as a young man. Good Luck and I hope you post some of your work here.

SAP, I sincerely apologize to you and to the members and owners of this good forum.
I HUMBLY ASK that I be given a second chance in the hearts of those I offended.

I did a miserable job of wording my question and then I misunderstood and reacted to SAP's kind response. To those who were so kind as to point out my error, thank you, and I am sorry I did not catch on to my offense sooner.

To those who responded with a bit of humor, I appreciate it.

To answer an ealier question in the thread, Danial Carr's operation is the Moonlight Mint, and he creates the 1964 Peace dollar overstikes, and he also creates some pretty nice (affordable) original works. I think he used a surplus Denver press for his Peace dollar overstrikes.

You've got to be kidding! IMHO, you have nothing to apologize for. You asked for an opinion. The knee-jerk reactionary should be chastised!
