I received a series 2003A $100 star note, today.
Serial number: FB 00062717*
From the first print run of stars for this series, totaling 160,000 notes. Condition is very good. Some very light folds, but that's it.
The reason this is a bummer is, I would love to keep it, but I really can't sit on 100 bucks right now.
It's times like this where currency collecting can be a bit frustrating.....but hey, paying bills takes priority. So, unless I can figure out a way to get an extra $100 before I need to spend it, it will be released back into the wild.
I tried to post a pic of it, but CC's photo posting rules wouldn't let me due to the photo size, and I really didn't feel like resizing the pic, right now. I can try later though, if pics are requested.

Hmm.. Try putting it on ebay? Idk about this one, but yeah, it kinda sucks.. I know what it feels like. I can't even hold on to a $20 bill right now if I found one lol

Why not offer it to some of the collectors here, it would help them out and maybe help you also, better than putting it on e bay or sending it back out in the cold. The Bill Collector

That would be nice, be the OP needs 250 posts before he is allowed to do that.. :(

Sorry coinsearcher83, I forgot about that rule, being that you brought the rules to my attention I just realized that I now have over 50 post, I guess now I can buy.
Moderators, does that also mean that I can post my currency "Want List" somewhere and buy that way or can I only buy from what is already listed ?. The Bill Collector

looks nice, you should try and email some of the people on this forum and see if they want it.

There is a wanted to buy section, just not sure if he has enough posts... I hope someone ends up with it, that's a nice one...

Sell it for face value to a friend or relative and tell them you will buy it back in a week/month whatever.

the 250 post rule sucks IMO. I have participated in the secrect santa. I post when I have questions or need questions answered. I guess I could just respond to posts to increase my count. When I joined there was no 250 rule but I guess I didn't get grandfathered in. No worries I'm not here to sell my coins anyway. I have ebay and or local collectors to sell to. I just enjoy the wealth of information and knowledge that is on this forum.

the 250 post rule was put into place because of members scamming others, this HAS happened before and after the new rule, it has stopped. it is an appropriate rule, and this forum isn't about buying and selling anyways, its about what you said, the wealth of information and knowledge that is on this forum.

Scammers will always scam rules or not. Even good people sometimes fall to the darkside. This forum seems to have a pretty good control on scammers. Nice note I would keep it regardless of money issues. I would ask my best friend and or a sibling to hold it for me. Good luck with your note.

I don't see anything to justify a significan't premium, sorta like the $100 USN I put on ebay that brought $97. I'd spend it.

Quote: Sell it for face value to a friend or relative and tell them you will buy it back in a week/month whatever. I'll probably try that, but if I can't keep it, it's not the end of the world. If it's meant to be, it will work out. Besides, I know that large denom notes are hard to keep, for some. That's why I mainly stick to smaller denoms. Pretty much $10's, and under. Thanks again, everybody, for all the thoughts, and suggestions.
